Citat:
Protean Electric has announced it will open a production facility in Liyang, China that will be able to handle a modest amount of volume. It still seeks to license its technology for larger customers, however.
Finns lite mer info här:
http://idealab.talkingpointsmemo.com/20 ...
Citat:
While perceptible differences emerge with increased unsprung mass, on the whole they are small and unlikely to be apparent to an average driver. The nature and magnitude of the changes appears to be nothing that cannot be overcome by the application of normal engineering processes within a product development cycle. Conversely, the promise of individual wheel motor control shows good potential for substantial improvements in vehicle behaviour
http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mellor. ... BC0009714CCitat:
“Not all cars can go in-wheel motor, but we are really seriously testing,” Mr Nakamura said.
“The in-wheel motor feels much more direct. And also a very good point is that you can control torque right and left, which is almost like four-wheel steering.
“If you turn, it is totally different – no understeer and very, very precise handling.”
..
He said the benefit to designers of such electric motor systems was to remove the motor from within the body for greater interior design flexibility.
“We have much more opportunity,” he said. “It is not necessary to stick to traditional layout. We are exploring many designs.”
