Hello,

i wonder if there are any engine damage due to a lean burning rate in non converted engines.

As i read the burning temps of E85 are lower than on gasoline.

In a german forum someone testet the exausttemps with a sensor. On E85 the temps were lower than on gasoline.

Is there any reported case of burnt outlet valves due to the use of E85?

I run a VW Golf Monomotronic with just a washer in the gasoline pressure unit to rise the pressure.

Thanks David

You can feel safe!
No reported damages after thousands of miles in hundreds of different cars!
If U want to tune for more performance there is a little other picture, but so is when doing this on petrol.
On standard or moderate engine output there is nothing that can cause problems on the engine or exhaust aftertreatment, that wouldn't do so when running on petrol.
